The Appalachian Trail through the Roan Mountains of North Carolina is near and dear to our hearts, as this will be the third year that we get to adventure there with some stellar new friends. Hike over several grassy mountains, explore rhododendron mazes, and spend a night in the highest shelter on the entire AT!

Backpackers of all levels are welcome for this beginner paced, 5 day trek. We will hike an average of 6 miles a day during this course, and while the terrain is mountainous, it is not rocky or technical. If you are looking for a slight step up in challenge, consider our Grayson Highlands course.

The Gist:
35 miles in 5 days on trail. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid 70’s during the day and down to the mid 40’s at night. All transportation, trail food, and lodging will be provided along with the expertise of two trained backpacking leaders. Guests should plan on bringing cash for food on travel days, as well as 2 meals on the final day of the hike. Gear rental is available, see pricing below. Registration is open until August 24th.
