(Cancelled) May 9th @ 11am-1:30pm: Backcountry Cooking
Want to adventure outside... and eat delicious and nutritious food? It can be done, and we can show you how!
Join the SOS crew to practice your backcountry cooking skills for your next biking or backpacking trip. We know that to learn something, you need to experience it in a realistic setting, so this course will be held on the trail after about a mile-long hike. Joining this course gets you hands-on cooking time, taste testing, and education on food nutrition and weight considerations; all focused on helping you be a better chef in your outdoor shenanigans.
Meet the crew at Seidman Trail (8155 Conservation St NE, Ada, MI 49301) for a .5 mile hike to our course kitchen where you will learn:
How to prepare several unique dishes including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a drink! (and then tasting them, of course!)
How to fire up and use 4 different types of stoves
How to clean up dishes in the backcountry
After our course, we will lead an optional hike around Seidman trails to walk off our tasty lunch!
Pay for the course on this page to reserve your spot and we will reach out shortly with some welcome info.
